Powerful Performance
The new GO LIVE 1005 is the first TomTom product completely designed for connectivity. Based around a powerful ARM 11 500 Mhz processor, the device also showcases a new Webkit-based user interface and the latest capacitive touch screen technology.
The software and service delivery platform have been optimised for rapid integration of third party applications and easy localisation to match the needs of specific markets or applications. The back end server systems have been completely redesigned, allowing effortless delivery of rich content and downloadable applications, via cable or over the air. All this also makes the TomTom GO LIVE 1005 future proof. It will be much easier than ever before to receive the latest content and relevant information instantly.
Working with partner Vodafone, TomTom has pioneered an innovative new business model, delivering real-time connectivity seamlessly across 33 European countries for the first time. With the GO LIVE 1005 there is no need for subscription or activation, as a full year* of services is now included with the device. This set of services includes TomTom HD Traffic™, mobile speed cameras and Google™ local search in 16 countries.
New routing
TomTom is committed to providing motorists with the best routing technology possible, developing industry firsts IQ Routes™ and HD Traffic™.
For this new platform, Our engineers were tasked to design a new routing algorithm that continuously scans the road network for the fastest routes, using these layers of navigation information. This has resulted in a patented super fast routing algorithm that sets new standards in accuracy and speed. Its user interface enhancements give drivers a better visual understanding of traffic conditions.
Complete new look and feel
The new user interface and application logic have been much improved. To existing TomTom users, the product will have the familiar TomTom feel, being easy to use and rich in features, but it does that in a much richer graphical environment. The new capacitive touch screen offers crystal clear graphics at high resolution.
Richer and more detailed maps, covering two million kilometres more roads and addressable locations across 45 European countries, ensure drivers never have to waste time looking for valuable information regarding their route. Also, a new Park Assist feature automatically informs drivers of car parks near their destination.
HD Traffic™
It's often helpful to check the radio, TV and internet for traffic news. But most of these sources only give news on the main highways. And that information won't make any difference to route calculation on your device. Our leading HD Traffic? service, however, gives drivers more detailed updates on more of the roads ? live on their TomTom device. Users can view detailed incident reports, estimated delay times and alternative route proposals in an instant. The result? Drivers stay calm and in control, with the most accurate journey durations and arrival times.
LIVE Snapshot
LIVE snapshot gives you all the relevant information in your surrounding area right from the start. You'll be able to see real-time information at a glance, including traffic conditions, safety cameras and fuel prices, making your drive more relaxed.
Local Search with Google
Tap into the latest local Google listings from your TomTom GO to locate anything from Indian restaurants to flower shops wherever you are. Type in any search word, find matching locations and let your device take you there.

Safety as a priority
Independent safety research has shown the importance of audible navigation instructions to road safety. The TomTom GO LIVE 1005 has been redesigned, no compromise has been made on audio performance. The GO LIVE 1005 now includes a much larger, enhanced speaker system, so that the spoken instructions are loud and clear at all times against any background noise within a typical in-car environment.
TomTom Map Share™
Users of the GO LIVE 1005 will benefit from TomTom's unique Map Share technology, with millions of corrections and improvements uploaded and shared every month by the TomTom online user community. These can include changes in street names, road speed limits, turn restrictions, traffic directions and road blocks, as well as corrections to Points of Interest, such as phone numbers changes. Map Share enables drivers to receive the corrections from other users or improve their own maps instantly on their device. TomTom has the world's largest satellite navigation community with more than 20 million users, and Map Share means TomTom drivers can always have the most up-to-date maps and inside local knowledge at their fingertips.
Latest map guarantee
TomTom navigation devices are installed with the latest maps during production, however, customers can be assured that if a new map is released during the first 30 days of using their new device, they are entitled to a free download of the latest map, via TomTom HOME.
IQ Routes
The new TomTom IQ Routes™ technology is based on actual average speeds on roads, rather than the sign-posted speed limits. This intelligent routing technology is based on anonymous historical speed profiles of over 10 billion kilometres of driven roads, gathered over the years by millions of TomTom users. It takes into account all the factors that may influence the time it takes drivers to get to their destination, including traffic lights, roundabouts, steep slopes and speed bumps.
The TomTom IQ Routes™ database continues to grow at the rate of over half a billion measurements per day, so the time and spatial accuracy of IQ Routes™ technology will continually increase. Drivers can be confident that they will always be given the smartest route incorporating detailed local knowledge. This allows for more efficient daily route planning, in particular when driving through urban areas.

Advanced Lane Guidance
With Advanced Lane Guidance feature, navigating difficult junctions becomes easier than ever before. The realistic representation of junctions on screen, including clear arrows indicating the lane direction, provide drivers with timely instructions to take the correct lane. Static images of road signs, in the same colour as the ones displayed on the road ensure drivers have an even better overview of their surroundings.
