Bike Trac, the latest innovation from Road Angel, lets you see where your bike is, 24/7 through its easy to use internet tracking portal.
Should your bike move when you're not on it, Bike Trac will text and/or email you let you know it's on the move and where it is.
It also provides useful journey information that owners can view via the online tracking portal. This information includes breadcrumb trails of their journeys, mileage information and information on speed.
How does Bike Trac work?
Bike Trac uses an in-built SIM card and GPS signal to triangulate its position, according to longitude and latitude. This signal is then sent to the Bike Trac servers at periodic intervals (which vary depending on whether the device is 'Armed' or in 'Journey Mode'). When the owner logs-on to their secure online tracking portal, the position of their bike is indicated by an icon on a Microsoft Virtual Earth™ map.
The combination of technologies used by Bike Trac ensures that even in areas of low GPS coverage, the bike can still be tracked.
How does it alert the owner?
Bike Trac can be set to 'activate' if the bike moves outside a 100 meter square area of its location when ?armed?, or if the motion sensor onboard Bike Trac is activated. The owner can choose the most appropriate ?trigger? for them.
If Bike Trac is activated, the owner will immediately receive an SMS text message and/or an email. Once again the owner can choose the most appropriate option for them.
